The #ICLEI World Congress, which takes place once every three years, is the flagship assembly for ICLEI Members and the extended ICLEI community and partners worldwide. This year’s World Congress is particularly significant, as it marks ICLEI’s 25th anniversary as an organization.
The ICLEI World Congress 2015 will be held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, at the iconic Dondaemun Design Plaza. Seoul Metropolitan Government has been an active ICLEI member since 1995. It is one of the world’s leading sustainable megacities, and it has accelerated its ambitions through a range of new initiatives.
The ICLEI World Congress 2015 will feature plenaries, discussion sessions, interactive workshops, trainings, and 15 mobile workshops showcasing sustainability in action across Seoul City. The program will focus on delivering tangible city solutions across all of ICLEI’s Urban Agendas.
The ICLEI World Congress 2015 will also enable us to strengthen our global advocacy, in particular with a view to ensuring integrity and raising the ambitions of the post2015 development agenda through the globalization of transformative local sustainability actions.
The World Congress offers our Members the chance to highlight their achievements, to connect with partners, and to learn from each other. Above all, it will inspire us to take home and implement the sustainable solutions we need for a viable urban future.
