Kulturcentrum Järna is situated 55 km south of Stockholm, by the Baltic Sea. With its
numerous initiatives, it forms an inspiring landscape of people’s visions being put into
practice. Here you will come upon Waldorf schools, biodynamic farms, shops and cafés
devoted to organic produce, a hospital based upon anthroposophical medicine, curative
homes, alternative banks and an award-winning Culture House.
Kulturcentrum Järna (formerly Rudolf Steinerseminariet), founded in 1964, is an
educational centre inspired by anthroposophy and offering courses which includes YIP
– an international initiative and social leadership training for young people – in addition
to courses in such varied fields as Waldorf education, eurythmy, curative therapy and
art therapy.
The various courses seek to integrate theoretical studies with artistic and practical
projects, thereby encouraging a learning process which also strives to create a dialogue
concerning vital and dramatic issues, challenges and needs of our time. The centre
provides single room accommodation in student houses on the campus.
Kulturcentrum Järna with its characteristic architecture and extensive park receives
every year a large number of visitors. Throughout the year people from all over the
world are able to find moments of inspiration from the variety of cultural, educational
and social events taking place within these beautiful premises.
